Priscilla and I relocated to Austin in 2020 and built our home in 2022-2023. We are retired and wanted a custom home in the Hill Country that would have enduring beauty, quality, and value to stand the test of time. Austin will long remember 2020-2022 as perhaps the wildest home construction boom in their history, and when we began our search for a custom builder, horror stories were already emerging – materials shortages, labor shortages, quality concerns, lengthy delays, and costs spinning wildly out of control.
There are a lot of custom home builders in Austin – and we spoke to many – but LTB quickly became our clear choice. LTB has an outstanding reputation for quality and customer satisfaction – and they have a number of repeat customers. LTB’s size is the perfect fit for us – not so small that we’d worry if they’d still be around for the warranty, but not so big that we’d be lost in their portfolio of projects. LTB was the only custom builder we spoke to that had a clear strategy to proactively manage the supply and labor shortages, and to keep our costs and timeline under control. In fact, when other builders were running away from ANY responsibility – LTB agreed to a fixed price for a major portion of our build. Priscilla and I wanted to be “hands on” in this project – Brent, Michael, and the entire LTB team of designers, craftsmen, and project management worked hand and glove with us throughout the entire process to assure the quality at every stage met or exceeded our expectations.
We are thrilled with our new home and we consider Brent, Michael, and the LTB team our partners and friends. While we have no plans at present to build another home – if we do, LTB will be our first call.
